  1. Thats what were wondering because they only had like 10-20 min gaps at a time so where guessing they was watching us for abit and then just thought wed have a go. It was very busy and it wasnt a massive tree just a small about a 35ft sycamore if that and i know a gardener who said could we take it out for him sort of subcontracting. Them days are long gone they dont help no one now. They arent really arsed no more, as long as you pass your assignments by the bare minimum work thats it and chainsaw certifications are passed without fail 99% of the time. Theres talk of funding being stopped for the chainsaw certifications also so i dont know whats going to happen when i leave but i think were leaving at the right time.
  2. The person isnt from southport we was asked to do a job up there. We was working just off shakespeare street. An yeh i am still there 4 months left then i have completed my level 3 diploma.Yep its the croxteth one and they wouldnt lend you even if you payed them too. As of equipment got something sorted for now, a friends going to lend me a full harness, 2 saws and a lid for the time being as he doesnt need them but all money i earn now am gunna put it to one side and save up to at least get meself a new climbing kit.
  3. Rob arb they wasnt mine thay was the person i was working with his saws i had the 170 thats it. An i have been speaking with him to sort out some gear for me hes guna look see what is there. Well the hitchclimber was nicked also. They was taken out of the van they bent the drivers side door and also where the compartments are on the back of the tipper 2 of them was bent so am guessing thats the way it was nicked. There was people in the area acting as scrap merchants but looked like gypos but then by the time you find out they will be on the way out of the country. I guess its a hard lesson to learn just take more steps to ensure all kit is safe and secure. Just gutted really dont know what am gunna do without any kit for a couple of days thats all. Guess il have to swallow this painful pill and move on. Any equipment going let me know as am gunna need some.
  4. Il have a rant now, but il start again tomorrow hope for some form of news. The police was right i know that just didnt want to hear it, Just sickening to think like that and all my kit has gone completely but ahh well just got to do it all again now start building from scratch again cant do no more.
  5. He can only get petzl stuff. So id still have to buy ropes, fliplines spikes and saws its just coming home with no kit sort of sticks in my throat a little bit but suppose every cloud has a silver lining. Am more angry about the police "Well in all fairness sir you'd be lucky to see any of that equipment again". Thats what done me head in the most the attitude they talk to you in.

  7. I was just having a rant of my disgust towards bankers not office workers who push pens and papers all day.
  8. Yeh they do and yeh they provide us with careers, but most of the tree felas i know are 100% platinum compared to the mosst jumped up, egotistical, self absorbed people who are only out for looking after them selves, they lead there little lives in a bubble they go to work have a sing and dance at work answering phone calls looking happy and smiling as the stock markets doing okay, but then they pay 1200 a night escort instead of a 50 a night from there local red light moment, they buy top of the range of drugs because there high class friends have. Am gunna get into trouble one of these days, as you can tell i despise all this people who think there better than the little guy who works as a joiner, plasterer, gardener and tree surgeon.
  9. Anyone can sit behind a desk and push buttons, bark orders and have them barked back, photocopy pieces of paper all day and think there the best admin assistant in the world but the fact is there too much of a pansy to get up and get out there and do a real persons job. there just to comfy sitting around on there backside on nice comfy chairs sippin tea or coffee all day probably low fat ones to reduce putting the pounds on in work then have a salad for there dinner which then they run off after work in there local gym and pay a membership for. We get a workout for free, enjoy doing our job except when its dancing down, Sometimes pay is good other times not so good but above all we have got satisfaction in are job and dont wake up each morning going i need a new job this ones crap. People can push buttons, same as anyone can kick a ball, any one can read numbers the fact is there just money grabbers who havent got a inch of life in them who are sitting on there backside getting fat and lumpy and a hefty bankaccount whilst us old guard provide services to them. Personally if you earn more 100,000 a year you should have to pay 1/3 in tax and national insurance. Am starting to get angry because the fat cats in suits are pooing on the little guy whose just out to earn a good living for himself and his family. Rant over enjoyy!!!!!
  10. Lorient Olivier dont have nothing on my friend.
  11. I do agree about 38 that its missing vital parts of tree climbing but most people dont use them that i have seen but that may change within the future. I have been told that my cs39,40,41 will be only be 2 pages of questions, now that for me is taking the mick this is where health and safety is paramount and yet you only have to show basic knowledge of the health and safety from chainsaw operations within the tree. I do find that as i head wrecker but hey who are we to judge where only operators who have got a license to thrill the passing public with all are fancy stunts and load bangs but somehow manage to show method within the methodical madness which we like to call arboriculture.
  12. Its a 16oz throw bag that goes a long way
  13. Am getting a telling off now for using the naughty words.
  14. Wow all this over cambium savers. I have been taught how to use them theoretically but never practically. I understand the reasons why there used eg less friciton on tree, opening wounds etc but as john k said they just get you through the assesment now and thats that no questions asked or what ever as long as you pass then they get there paypacket but strictly speaking 10/10 your guarenteed to pass as the college has there own assessor who gets his cut at the end of each year for it so, thats just my way at looking at things by the way.
  15. I just emptied me bag out and showed it all basically, that helmet is welcome to another home dont need it love me petzl wouldnt go back to them.
  16. Its the navaho sit, and its there at the very back not a good pic i will admit, i have got a bigger one for on site, i am also looking at that arb trauma kit if anyone has seen it looks a decent bit of kit looks hefty on the price tag. If anyone would like that husqvarna helmet its theres got it free when i started work. I have never used a cambium saver been told i need to but never actually used one i understand the reasons for, easier movement when moving up, doesnt strain arms as much i do understand the pointers to having one so i might start using one this week to see the benefits of one.
  17. DO you mean where is it or why have you got one on there?
  18. Its only a small one just a starting out one 25m, got the new england hiviz 36m coming next week, i have never used a cambium saver even in college i havent,
  19. It was in me bag i dont have a clue how it ended up in me bag or when it did i just thought id throw it in. I know its no where near enough but its my first climbing kit and wondering if av got a good little kit, thats not showing my spikes, fliplines and other pieces that are missing off there.
  20. Here are my first pics of my climbing kit. I have got quite abit to much so i am starting to take things off that i dont really need on it as its getting heavy when am climbing which is a newbie mistake. Go easy and any advice is greatly recieved.
  21. It certainly is a nice big red one with the vents in the side to let off the steam.
  22. Mozza Do you require a helmet?
  23. I sadly have to settle for the 201's which i aint bothered about as its a new saw but you can never beat the 200's.
