Yep, square sawn post and rail and half round too. Can be a sod to knock accurate if the ground is bad as posts want to twist so you have to be on the ball with the post holder. I got the biggest king hitter available, 300 kg weight and 12ft mast. Puts in most things!! That's mounted on front linkage of a mog, then carry materials and tools in the rear body with a quickfencer on the rear linkage. 2 passes along a line and it's up

i have done alot of post and rail but no domestic fencing i loved the post and rail and liked the fact that i can acchive alot of meterage in not much time. i used the still hand held petrol auger.

that sounds awesome, mog and front mounted driver has to be one of the most efficient/versatile setups for general agri fencing, we use mini digger mounted ones for awakard areas, tractor and wrag with rock spike for straightforward runs, both have their pros and cons but i like the look of those tracked postdrivers that vector make.

I tried one of those hand held augers once, didn't get on with it to be honest, every time i hit a rock or root in would procceed to smash in tomy leg with the brake thing. handy on very easy going ground tho

I looked into converting a big tracked dumper into a fencing machine but you still need a tractor and low loader to get it on sites. I work all over the south east so my set up works well as I can easily carry a few hundred meters worth of fencing plus tools and a passenger with ease.

mate of mine has done it on manook(iffy spelling)transports it on a daf brevertail hell of a machine, goes most places it helps that he is not 100% sane:001_smile:

the ones vector/ protech make weigh under three ton so could tow behind a 4x4 350kg hammers BUT you would have to do seperate trip for the materials. Im always thinking of machines I could turn into a versatile fencing machine.

Marooka??? That's the usual one that gets converted. I agree 100% that they do go places and generally don't make too much mess unless your turning. Whether it be beaver tail or a low loader It wants to be pretty low otherwise you end up wiping out wires and branches wherever you go!!

alot of people try and diversify into the fencing side of things, some do well and others dont, as with most things. It does pay and well but you have to be efficiant and graft, theres only so much people will pay for a fence, so profit boils down to time, quicker its up better it is, machinary is very important on agri and commercial jobs but it also costs. speed is great, but its nothing if the qaulity isnt there..

We do a fair bit of fencing but I sub all of mine out and make a little from it and the guys I use help me out a fair bit they have some nice kit post knocker on a small tractor and on an a avant they also an auger on it.
