What's wrong with tight eye splices? Of course if you can't fit a crab it's useless but apart from that?

They are more fiddly to get the krab into. I prefer to be able to do it one handed if necessary or if im holding my weight with the free end I want to just clip it in quickly.

The one I had you could just about get the krab in and it had pulled a few strands.

So all in all, crap.:laugh1:

If its so tight it's pulling strands then I agree it's useless. I do however think the splice should grip the crab and not let the crab flop about.

I'll second that Rob XTC Rope is absolutely bomb proof . I had the same red xtc for over 6 years . To long maybe but after that it got used for small rigging and also pulled a few stumps out with it .

Ditto. Same, same, all day long. Iive used Yale XTC for similar length of time and its a rope that has never let me down. I'm also using my old rope as a secondary lowering line and still feel its got plenty of life left!
