getting treated to one hell of an electrical storm at the moment.

not going to watch it that much because last time i did that i managed to be looking in the exact direction that one hit a mile or two away and had a huge fork of lightning imprinted on my retina for a good 5 minutes and started to think it was permanent.

could have had plenty like that here too. there was a strike about every 10 seconds for half a hour.

as i said a few posts ago, i am a tenpin bowler and throw it down there really fast and boom. i sometimes get called the thunder bolt because of the speed and the sound it makes but i can not hold a patch to the show mother nature has just given us, some really bright lightning and very loud thunder. wooooooweeee. that was a goodun.

it has been so bright in the garden i can pick out more detail than you see in the daytime. light, dark, light, dark, light, dark, light, dark. man my iris muscles are worn out...

We had the electrical storm also Jon . About 1.00am and I have to say it was spectacular . Watching from my loft window I could see lightening strikes to the ground all around us ....to the point I was getting worried . I remember a bloke only a few yards from me having his chimney struck and all his electrical sockets blown out . Luckily not this time !

For a short while, it poured during the night but now it's dry again, though cloudy a feels chilly. I dare say it's not actual a chill, just the glowering sky and light wind that makes it so by comparison to weather of late.

He had/has a chimney but no earthing conductor... puzzled I am.

Mind in these times. If you fitted one, the scum would be round to tear it off your house before the kettle boiled.

I think it was the tv antenna that it struck . Any way most of the stack was missing . He had problems with the insurance claim I remember . The buildings insurance covered the stack but for some reason he had to make a second claim on the contents policy for the electrics.
