I have built my own web site and pblished it to the web for £7 for 3 years!

 

It takes a bit of finding but i found a site where there was free hosting, i think they charge a bit now and only paid the £7 for the domain name.

There are loads of great web building downloads out there just be carefull not to get tied into one`s who host the site for you as well this gets expensive and very narrow on what you can do.

 

The best web creation tool i have found is http://www.ewisoft.com/ free and it is as easy as posting on here.

They make enough money out of people to busy to both with DIY websites, wish i could get people to pay me £200 to build a site , i could easy set up a 3 or 4 pages in half a day

I don't have a website, but I am starting to think I should have one.

 

What should I expect to have to pay to get one up and running?

 

Not sure how versatile the styling is, but try Googling and reading about JOOMLA websites.

 

Apparently inexpensive and effiective with fairly easy content management for site owners.

 

Again, I don't know much, but have heard decent feedback from someone very familiar with JOOMLA.

 

There must be a decent batch of information on it.

Personally id say joomla is a bit bulky if all your after is a few simple pages informing people what your about, services you provide, location etc. Its also not the easist content management systems to use.

Coming into this topic from the other side, how much do you use suppliers sites for info and purchases, in an earlier thread a question was asked as to where to find a certain make of chipper as they do not have a website, how much does the internet influence your decision as to which equipment to look at, demo and in-turn purchase?
