I use Scholl Cracked Heel Repair Cream (yes, on my hands), vaseline (a couple of times a day) and then barrier cream before I get working (when I remember).

This may sound like I have it sorted. I don't. My hands are in pieces at the moment - you know those cuts into your fingerprints that just never heal?

handcreams generally soften the skin, this isnt what you want as it will make your hands worse when you do some manual work, without wanting to sounding rude are you a 'manual worker' day to day? if your hands have been wet all day you could try wearing powdered latex gloves under your gloves, we use the orange 'grippy gloves' they last well & dry quick once wet!

Have you ben doing mechanics without wearing gloves? Ths will give you dermatitis, which can take the form of what you are describing. I have it with my left hand, gloves are a must- the builders grip type of glove as mentioned above seem to be the best and most popular type.

depends alot on your skin, aquaous cream is good, very thin/ easily absorbed, personally.... i use 'bepanthen'.... its a nappy rash cream !!!! i tried countless other before that didnt help!! its not a steroid cream either!! unfortunatly skin problems are very individual, what works for one wont work for somebody else.. prevention is better than cure!!
