nope nope and nope

There is an IPL and operators manual on husqvarnas website for a 550xp which would be a replacement for the current 346xp at some time next year (honest!) then there is also a new smaller saw which will be a 543xp supposidly some time end of next year early 2013

anyway it will be interesting to see how the newer saws last.

TCD does the 261 run a bit quicker then as I have always felt that series of saw, 024/026/ms260 seemed sluggish on chain speed and acceleration, have they sorted this? as from having run a 560xp it certainly seems husky are stepping it up as well

hi charl

do you think the 543xp will be a new version of the old legend the 242xp [very hard to find now]

it wont be anything like it due to the advances in technology and the emissions and havs restrictions, although it could be a very nice lightweight saw, it could be a replacement for the 339xp i dont know i havent looked into it enough

I was all set to buy a 346xp to replace my tiring old ms260 until i read this!

I'm back to square one now!:sneaky2:

If the 2 saws were in front of you and you could only ever use one for the next year, which would it be??

Deffo the 261. I've had a 346xp in my hands almost every day since July. Great saw no doubt. But then this 261 came along and I am seriously besotted! You can lean on the torque, it revs like hell so just eats timber and best of all has far less exhaust stink. This is a new saw, both on 13" and with a wider kerf remember... Brilliant.

346xp is a far more superiour saw.

That is such an unhelpful hyperbole of a statement. Obviously not why I started this thread or what I for one think anymore.

Very much so, just eats hardwood, not run in softwood yet.

Nice to finally read something nice about the 261 on here...!

I've read reviews and heard good things about it elsewhere but all I seem to read on here is what a great saw a 362 is, and how much faster it cuts, and how it's better built! :001_rolleyes: Well, a Husky's bound to cut quicker with it's girly little sliver of a kerf, and I can't believe a vacuum cleaner manufacturer makes a better saw than a German chainsaw manufacturer.... :001_tongue:

I'm kidding, I don't want to start a fight!

But thanks for the feedback on the 261.....
