201t over revving!

Today my 201 went into overdrive! Chogging down a Euc 12" ish diameter and after I had done the cut the saw ran at high speed and even after blipping the throttle wouldn't slow down! I haven't touched the carb. Suggestions please!

oh i don't know, these things are beyond me...something about a butterfly type thing on the carb that worked loose or something....pm Justin.

Thats shocking, the retaining screw is usually punched to stop it coming lose, if the screw had managed to come out think of the consequences!

 

The symptoms sound about right though!

Even though mine is working OK atm... I reget buying this saw, like I do boning the girl who gave me herpes... Why or why, did Stihl send out a saw which is so clearly not ready for market???

 

It's just a shame I know about how bad the 560xp was... or I'd seriously consider moving over to the dark side (husky).

Been using Aspen in the 560 so far so good try it in the 2001 might be just the thing.

Glad you are using Aspen, its a great product, but I dont think it can make a bad saw good, maybe just a bit better.
