the reason i say this is that recently i was asked to fell severall trees on a property, this was a large house with the name of the owners company displayed at the end of the drive. i was asked to fell about 12 trees in varying states of health. halfway into the job i was approached by a man who told me he was the owner of the house having bought it off the occupant 5 years previously and that i was to halt work immediately.i decided to approach the "owner" and bill her for the works i had carried out. although there was no written contract i was assured confidently that if it were to go to a small claims court i would get my money and any that was owed to me after the 14 day period

Goodluck with tha'!!:scared1:

All our quotes have terms "COD and we reserve the right to add a 10% credit charge". we then add 10% to all invoices that don't pay on the day. IE, NHS,councils and builders. We then state that a 10% discount can be deducted for payment by a certain date.

Never had 1 complaint and it's suprising how many send you the payment including the extra 10%

Correct me if i'm wrong, but is it not the law that gives people 30 days to pay an invoice before being charged extra or being taken to the small claims? I guess its up to the individual company but I state that 'payment is preferred on the day of completion or within 30 days of reciept of invoice'. Now I may be misinformed, anyone know different?
