Want to say a big thanks, the guide appeared on my doorstep today (with the aid of a postman, I reckon) and what a guide it is! It's gone to a good home and will get plenty of use A world apart from the old Collins guide, and I never knew this one existed....

Mine arrived yesterday. I have to echo Sloths sentiments too. I feel very lucky to be the owner of this book and will put it to good use. Other than spreading the word, I know nothing of your motivation to run the 'guess the fungi close up' but you are clearly a very generous person to invest not just your time but hard earned cash in the education of others.

my only motivations are

 

1 to hopefully encourage others to discover for themselves the joy in discoveries, for me it is truly a joy and often emotionally rewarding, if \i can show give that to others, no greater gift can I offer.

2 to fulfill my obligation as a member of the BMS (british mycological society) which states (all members must promote and encourage the growth of mycology)

3 to encourage others to think about the other forms of life that are as much a part of the tree as the tree itself:thumbup1:
