what would you get from larch or spruce? whats the price per ton/ KWh difference?

Larch and spruce are about 2700kwh per tonne.

Obviously, a tonne of 22% moisture content chip will have a higher energy rating than sopping wet fresh chip, and will be a higher volume per tonne.

If you charge 2p per Kw, it works out at about £58 per tonne for high grade dry chip.

2p per Kw is a common figure because at that price it just beats mains Gas bought commercialy.

so at current timber prices your better off burning dry larch chip etc to dry oak chip? from what i gather prices are low at the moment due to the lack of building work?
