Just looking at getting a fresh vehicle at some point soon.

Been looking at crew cabs so can stick saws in the back etc....

Torn between the iveco and the transit.....

I like the iveco due to ride height, towning capabilities, the looks, taller cab so taller chip box :D

I also like the transits as another option.

Currently run a ldv and am after something more refined, better steering and brakes and just update image a bit.

Only thing that i'm bothered about with the iveco is the "Lack" of payload as we all know theyre heavy!

Its either a iveco crew cab with steel back....

Or a transit crew cab with ally back.....

What to do? both same on insurance

hmmmmmmmm :confused1:

ive got a 2004 iveco 35c12 crew cab and i love it! It is built like a tank compared to my old transit!

Its currently got steel dropsides on it with ply sides added but theyre bloody heavy! Over christmas i'm going to build an aluminium back to go it and shave a bit of weight off it.

The back seats have been removed and there is loads of space for kit... too much really!:blushing:

One thing to be careful of with the crewcabs is tell the insurers the rear seats have been removed and its now a 3 seater. With the rear seats its a commercial 7 seater so you would require a minibus license to drive it!

Definitely Iveco. Look for ex-council with single cab with roller shutter storage behind. Much more practical for equipment and far better security. Vehicles round these parts have had windows smashed and tools nicked. Replace steel with high ally dropsides (all easy to DIY with proper ally kit from body suppliers). We got hold of a cage one, cut out the cage and covered truck back with custom cover made from the material used on curtainside trucks. Can roll back up and tip body to chip into. Flap opens at front for long ladders. Sides can lift for easy access. Back rolls down and secures keeping everything inside dry and away fro prying eyes. The roller shutter tool storage hold hedgecutter, chainsaws, strimmers, tool boxes and every other thing we need. Long telescopic Stihl fits securely under the tipper back. Just about perfect it is.
