Hello,

Does anyone know where to buy 130 crew cabs, tipper or Hicap at reasonable prices?

The only place I can find so far is the defender centre in the Midlands.

Looking for a 200-300 tdi or Td5.

Also why are defenders so expensive??? I used to have one a couple of years ago and it was ok but nothing special. Just need something 4x4 with a chip box. £15k for a 12 year old truck with no service history:confused1:

Cheers

Nene Overland New and Used 4x4 Land Rover Defender 130 for sale i would like to know why defenders hold there value mega to any other commercial out there

Cos a Defender's got what it takes and keeps on doing what it takes.

Nene are about as expensive as you can get, and yes, they are the only things that will last and last and last and come back for more.......hence the amount of series landrovers still in work out there.

Read Tommers post in another landy thread, he's got it spot on, buy the most expensive defender you can because if you don't and try for a "bargain" it will more often than not be a nail.

Been burnt too many times on cheap landies/ "bargains" mozza, finally learnt:001_rolleyes::biggrin:

The main thing I would say after owning all manner of Landrovers for 26 years is this: People sometimes expect too much of them, in terms of off road performance, of weight carrying ability or comfort. I went from 110 to 127 to Bedford MJ to Foden FH70 Limber to Bedford MJ winch wagon and back to 110 because there is no point in expecting a 110 to carry 4 tons, or expecting a Foden to do more than 4mpg when laden. Its horses for courses although admittedly if used within its' limits a Landrover is a great alrounder.
