I will dig the pump out this weekend and post it up to you and then when it safely arrives you can pay the postage.As for bleeding, crack the higher nipple on the fip and pump the lift p/p till air free fuel spurts out. shut nipple then crack the 6 injector pipes on the engine.spin the engine and as the fuel spurts out of the pipes tighten the unions 1 by one, the engine should fire by the time you have done 3 of them.

  4. Yea absolutely. Look on fleabay. Hobsons sell them for around £600. I got mine in about 1996 from a dealer in Wales. These were the days when the army didn't release the armoured bodies with the Landrovers and only sold the rolling chassis'. There are two versions of the front 110 Salisbury. One has the standard 110 brakes ( this axle fitted to SAS 110 dpvs', ) and the version with vented discs ( called 1" vents) which where fitted to the armoured 110s. CV joints and half shafts no stronger, the strength only in the diff.

Hi was out in the Foden yesterday sorted the leak that was emptying tank 5, it was a leaking valves in the air wiper motor, that was interesting taking it to bits! just needed cleaning out and a little more preload on a couple of springs. The blow off valve on the air tanks was blowing off far to early, so adjusted that and the extra pressure makes the overdrive select much better and the clutch pedal is much lighter! It,s running much sweeter since it,s been hauling timber the 9 miles back to our yard and very hilly it is to, going to tidy the cab up next summer bit of rot in the door bottoms to sort and a bit of paint going to keep it in camo colours maybe just a bit of signwriting on it, got a A frame drawbar trailer to drag behind it, also be fitting a big ramsey winch to the front soon, got the winch just need to find the time to fit it!

The main thing I would say after owning all manner of Landrovers for 26 years is this: People sometimes expect too much of them, in terms of off road performance, of weight carrying ability or comfort. I went from 110 to 127 to Bedford MJ to Foden FH70 Limber to Bedford MJ winch wagon and back to 110 because there is no point in expecting a 110 to carry 4 tons, or expecting a Foden to do more than 4mpg when laden. Its horses for courses although admittedly if used within its' limits a Landrover is a great alrounder.

I tried selling my 110 Hi-cap last January when skint, read the spec then what the best I was offered for it. 3500gvw galvanised chassis, 4L perkins phaser engine ( new from the factory when bought) fully rebuilt lt85 box , rebuilt transfer box, high range transfer gears, power steering, front and rear salisbury axles, polybushed,ap racing front vented discs,3500 suspension, rear gas shocks,was originally a military 110 so has the split doors,, never offroaded, and 5 almost new avon tyres...best offer £2100
  10. Hi. I used to own your Foden FH70 Limber.I was the second owner and when I bought it, it used to leak fuel into the sump from the fip. I didn't attend to this and just gave it 18 oil and filter changes in 14 months.I had the injectors serviced and fitted a brand new lift pump( not needed but I have the old one (good working order) if you will pay the postage). I replaced the clutch brake diaphram ( a cnut of a job) and serviced the vehicle to death. The owner after me I know nothing about but believe Simon, who you bought it off looked after it well, having meet him once. It used to leak air from the 5th tank causing gear changing problems around town. I sold it to Dave Crouch complete with spare reconditioned engine ( Rolls 305 ... actually 291 bhp) and with a Bedfrord TM hydraulic winch assy. I loved the thing and always remember the 1/2 down, neutral,full down up gear change operation. Never depress the clutch fully on a downward change....ever. You will overheat the gearbox.

  11. Yes basically. Use 110 unlevelled rears with the helper springs on the back, and if memory serves me right, the fronts on a 3500gvw 110 are HD 90 rears. When I had my 127 it was running 4500gvw single coils on the back with no helpers. I took them off as they where too stiff when unladen and have sat in the garage ever since. On the front of mine I use HD Landrover Discovery rears + 2" due to the Perkins Phaser. As previously mentioned make sure all the bushes are in good order and gas shocks on the back are a sound investment.
  12. Hi, Front (Rover) and rear (Salisbury) are the same on 110 and 127/ 130 models in the 1986 to td5 era. The only axle and braking uprade avaliable was a Salisbury front axle which had the option of enormous vented discs and the calipers were supplied by AP. ( These were fitted to RUC amoured 110 Landrovers.) I fitted this axle to mine as I have a 4L 135bhp Perkins Phaser in my 110 Hi-cap.I do believe there is two versions of a coil sprung salisbury axle, one being heavier duty than the other but I can't confirm that for you.
  13. Hi, for what it is worth, here is my ten pence worth. I built a 127 using all the bits from a military 110. Other than the rear prop and a 17" piece of 109 back body in the middle it was all 110. The early 127's were cut 110 chassis' with a 17" section welded in(like mine).they were built by Special vehicle operations at Landrover. They had along the top and bottom of the chassis rails 3mm plate 75mm wide running nearly the full length of the vehicle. Heavy duty 110s also had this additional plate. On later models this was not added and chassis one piece. All 110 and 127 Brakes the same. 3500gvw springs were coils within coils on the back. As the factory registered the early 127's as 110s I did the same and never came unstuck. Just make sure you insure the vehicle for what it is.
  14. Nice truck, I used to own this Foden Limber. I was the second civilian owner and ran it for about 18 months to rallies up and down the country. Make sure you master the gearbox to be sure you don't ruin the clutch brake assy. Pm me for more info on what history I can pass on if you want. Ps I only ever managed 4mpg but ran it on Red as it was registered as a "special vehicle" ie crane.
