Time for another view on a half load.

Have any of you thought that either because someone has lost his job or because they can't afford a full bag in the run up to Xmas they are asking for a half bag. Not everyone is flush with money.

Maybe if you supply it they will call you first when the situation improves. I would.

Then again, if you are so over-run with orders I can understand you refusing to supply but not ridiculing the potential customer.

I'll get my coat !!

I have many customers that only want small loads due to lack of space - in the same way as they get small deliveries of coal every few weeks. Some people have 4 barrow bags every 4 or 5 weeks, some have one barrow bag every 2-3 weeks.

Just charge accordingly, delivering to several people in same area on certain fixed days.

I also have customers that will order 3-4 cube in one go.

People only wanting one or two barrow bags are quite happy to pay up to £30/bag (bags are approx 0.2 cube each)

Had a lot of calls wanting nets this week! They have spoken to people ive supplied bulk loads to and been directed to me but they dont have space for large loads. May get some barrow bags and see how they go. Managed to sell 10 nets to a lady this evening at £4 each. Commented how much heavier and nicer smelling my nets are compared to DIY store!!

I made the decision last month to stop doing small orders. It has paid off big time. This morning I delivered 5cube to a guy who used to buy one bulk bag every 3 weeks or so, I have found that when you tell people that the minimum order is 3 cube (£160) or 5 cube (£240) they just order more, in fact I have been surprised how many have gone for the 5 cube load...

Let someone else do all the half baggers.:001_smile:

Interesting, we just charge more for smaller orders. We can deliver 2 barrow bags each to 3 different customers in one trip and charge £25 for each one. Total is £150 for 1.2 cubic metres!
