Rope Wrench feedback

Recommended Posts

The petzl basic is a separate ascender to the croll and is often used as a hand ascender, for someone who hasn't tried the hitchhiker you seem pretty certain about it Oldmill?

Eh? All I said was I tried that technique as shown in the video. It worked perfectly for me with RW and perfect for the guy in the video.

If course I'm certain of the HH or I wouldn't buy one.

I was certain of a LJ and RW before I bought them and they were perfect.

Just curious mate as you have really been talking it up and i haven't spoken to anyone who has actually used one, i was just correcting you on the basic there's no point in giving out incorrect information, Srt ascent systems are very personal and would suggest that everyone trys different set ups many people like handeld ascenders.

Think it's in one of the hitch hiker threads, not this one

My bad, I definitely read it somewhere .... 'crab rotates oddly, clunky noise, feels a bit agricultural, reminiscent of ZK1, next gen will probably be great tool...' something like that... :001_smile:

Got some new toys arrived today! I've upgraded to a ZK2 as I've bent my ZK1:blushing:

One side of the rope end is slightly bent outwards, you can just about make it out in the pictures. It doesn't seem to have weakened the side plate but no need to take a risk with it, the ZK2 is now in my bag ready for action :thumbup1:The I think it's happened as a result of my habit of dropping through natural redirects at speed.

I've also noticed I've worn the main fixed bushing the ZK1, you can't make it out on a photo, but considering its had 13 months of day to day climbing, its held up pretty well, wear wise.
