That hitch looks like a valdotain with too much cord. Must be a hell of a sit back on it

None really I could only say it kind of as close as a knot is going to get to a lockjack. Theres a video online probably under sam cooper or super cooper knot. It tends and bites on drt without a pulley easily.

 

No real sit back but that maybe down to my style of advancing the knot my bottom two fingers draw the knot and my top two and thumb advance the wrench, dont use LOTS that much anymore after i focused on posture and seems to be just as easy without not. Anyway once i release my lower two fingers i fractionally later release my top fingers to come to a stop with no sit back.

 

 

Sounds complicated but isnt. Think its and amazing knot and allows for some very fast and accurate jumps and stops.

So tried the Super Cooper knot today, 3 wraps and 4 twists, Blimey its like having a lockjack but in knot form. Really impressed with it and it always bit, no slips and even when i dropped hard onto it it still freed up without me having to dress the hitch.

 

Looks good does that hitch. Found a vid on Youtube of the Sooper Cooper - def seems to work well.

Looks good, I will be checking that out on my rec climb tomorrow if the weather holds out!

you have run the tail round the side of karabiner but is it supposed to finish of running between the hitch cord? thats the only difference i have spotted between your cooper and others or does it make no difference?

None that i could see, i guess because its the termination point, but guess infront or behind its the twists and braids that really matter. But in honesty Ben i had to spend 5 minutes looking at my pic and Aarons.

Im really impressed by the look of this and seeing it in the video. possibly looking at going back on a hitch for a bit as the spiderjack is slipping again but this could be down to a bit of glazing on the rope:blushing:

The only words i can use to describe it, well in my termination setup, is it has the response of a mechanical device but is a hitch.
