Felled this large cherry at the start of this week. It was situated in a graveyard and IMO didn't need to come down for the reason it did (Pholiota), but we felled it anyway. You can't tell in the video but we had to avoid breaking a limb (growing virtually in the crown of the cherry) from the Copper Beech on the left and the second cherry on the right, so had to be careful with the direction and fell against a slight lean. Big gob, one wedge, pulling rope, over she came..

Criticism welcome:lol::sneaky2::001_tt2:

shame to cut such a nice tree down, but it'd look nice on my woodburner!!!!:laugh1:

nicely done IMO:001_tongue:

It'll probably look nice on the woodburners of the people we moved it onto, two full iveco 5 tonners of cherry wood!

I did actually mention that but I'm just a scivvy and not in charge, the others would rather chop it up and move it on for firewood?

Plus I dont know anyone round these parts who would come take it away for milling??

We've taken down a lot of big timber this past week, 75' beech and 60' ash amongst others, it has all gone for firewood but might have been better milled!
