I have just had an artic load of stika delivered payed 750 for it all in it travelled 40mile . The guy has quite a bit of it its the first time i have bought any quantity of soft wood had a lot of people ask just need to find another 200t of hard for next year and ill be happy.:biggrin:

What sort of softwood is it? If its sitka you will be paying a lot less for it as it is total crap compared to larch for example.

 

 

Nothing wrong with sitka, not sure why everyone raves about larch, not really much difference.

 

Sitka keeps me warm and cooks my dinner so im not complaining:biggrin:

Will you get 25 ton of seasoned soft wood on an artic?

 

Much better if you can't, then you're getting the maximum volume for your money.

 

To the OP: That sounds expensive. If you're the end user make sure you are paying 5% VAT.

The sitka we get from the FC always has a lot of rot in it, I don't know if this is just a consequence of being palmed off with rubbish they can't get rid of any other way or whether sitka is quick to rot once down. Even rotten, though, it burns fine if it's dry, provided you can split it without it disintegrating into smush.
