    Yes then pour 10 gallons of red diesel around the stump to kill the roots off! Dont worry about the drains though because they are blocked by roots!!

    Really!! Cut through tree, tree falls over (gravity again) cut into logs, dump branches in layby. Simples!! Its people like you that give tree surgeons a bad name

    Yes it is, root cutting is only a temporary measure the only permenant measure is removal of the tree based on over 30 years in the drainage industry dealing with these problems on a daily basis.

    You can only temporarially remove roots they will always find a easy water source again and concentrate root groth in that area, the only way to stop this is to remove the tree. Council's appreciate this train of thought and will allow removal of a protected tree if you provide them with evidence to prove your case. However if you go to them with all guns blazing demanding removal of a tree they will dig thier heels in and make you fight. Its all about the right approach!!.

    In all 5 cases of cctv evidance supplied on root ingress the tree's were removed! 100% sucess i would say. It is down to the approach you take with the council, if you can prove the problem you exists they are more than happy to work with you. It is not always easy to just replacing the drains.

    As i said previously not in my experiance with shropshire county council, on 5 occasions just this year protected trees on private and council owned land were destroyed, the council are more than willing to drop a tree as they are a liabillity nightmare for them.

    Not in my experiance, insurers will only pay out once on root intrusion then any future problems are down to the homeowners, no council will take the risk of being held liable for more root intrusion by making you keep the tree.

    If you can show root intrusion to nearby drains that usually works with the council.My drainage company carries out drain cctv surveys for homeowners and in many of the cases we have worked on, that usually pushes the council to give a destruction order on the tree due to the cost of remedial work on the drains.After the tree is removed the drains are usually sorted with rootcutting equipment.Drain cctv survey £150-£200 with the drains the first to show early root problems.

    How much should i pay for a 25ton lorry load of corded softwood delivered? I have been given a price from a local timber merchant but i am not sure if it is a good price or not?
