Hi, I'm looking for some one with a big stump grinder to remove a red wood stump in Guildford, the access is great so tractor mounted or tracked will get to it fine. I would like some one to put a price on it, The stump is approx 6 meters circumference I would say a days work for a big machine but I mean BIG.

Please pm me.

Thanks Rhys

Glenn Kay at Stockport possible has the biggest in the land! Based on a 6 tonne excavator with a massive wheel. It is the machine that Justin Kingwell used to have and Homegrown were the original owners.

Redwood is as soft as butter, I did one with a rayco 1625, took all day and the stump was not as big as yours probably but still, a 50hp machine should do it in a day. As you probably know Its clearing the grindings whilst doing it that is the real pita,

just a thought.

I will have a loader to clear the grindings but the price only really allows one day £4-500 to grind, may be I should just use mine

It is not for me to tell you what to do but honestly Redwood is the easiest grinding I have ever done; Post some pics if you can.:001_smile:

I ve just had a Giant Redwood cut down and stumpground on my site due to a lightening strike 2 years ago

The stump grinding took 1 1/2 days after the first day all chippings had to be removed to find smaller roots to clear
