Original working setup:

I have a couple of Ultra O's on their merry way. So what am I doing wrong?

Once you get the Ultra O's it be lot smoother setup, but you really need a splice too to get the best effect with HC. As knots can hold you hitch open sometimes and just too bulky. Need a stopper knot on end of that bowline bro.....Fishermans is a way better/safer knot, to use for that termination.

@Rob ARB. Should always have the pulley facing away from you, as it doesnt do it's Job otherwise. so the rope runs against the pulley and free out the back.

Thanks Mat, I tied that bowline just for the pic, didn't climb on it...

As for a fishermans... I found it really got in the of the hitch, as it is bulky..so the big bowline is more streamline for the purpose.

thats it! these hitches and hitchclimbers are ready to climb on. And they belong to some of the best tree climbers in the World.

Interesting that all the setups are on tied friction cords as opposed to spliced! Would have thought that spliced cords would make the system less bulky and easier to use??
