As title says . Me and another arbtalk member are currently removing a large ash tree . The last two limbs are basically straight out from the trunk. The anchor point is as high as we could get it. Just under the limbs there is a garage / sheds and a caravan ? Now i'm thinking of using a tirfor or a large braked hand winch so when timber is cut it can be then lifted out of the danger zone ie targets below . I,m thinking of tip roping then pulling up with the winch . Your thoughts please .:001_smile:

Once you start lifting loads, you need to be sure of your S.W.L of you equipment, and your anchor points will take the extra strain. Make sure that you have enough winch cable to reach the floor, which i did not the first time !

Standard stuff with my GRCS. You could also balance tie then lift. If your going to tip tie make sure you leave a good hinge and ensure if the but drops it can not hit any targets.

can it not be rigged, cradeled with a tag line to pull it from the property?

or is it a case of lifting over etc?? or big weight in limbs?

I just need to get all the slack out the lowering line . Then use a tag line .

We got rubbish DZ .:001_smile:

Standard with the GRCS tell me about it :001_smile: . I was thinking of tensioning the said limb and lifting out of the target area with a hand winch only in small pieces 80 kg max .Then also having a line attached to The portawrap for added security .
