Automatic pickup

Does anyone use an automatic l200 or toyota for towing ?

Just wondering as the wife said she will deliver logs if it is an auto

Generally speaking auto is better for heavy work, no clutch to wear out.

My dad uses a landcruiser, 4.2L TD auto for towing sheep, it's awesome!

I've used the equivalent manual as well and the auto wins hands down:thumbup1:

My shogun is pretty good, except for the the bloodly parking sensors that peep all the time when reversing a trailer.

It's got preselect gears too so if I want to hold on to a gear it's easy. With the miles I do I'd always go for an auto.

My brother in law has had almost 2 identical audis one manual one auto , with the auto he can get the same mpg all day long he couldnt with the manual

He is getting more mpg than the manual

I was always sniffy about auto's, until we got our first disco that was auto, they are great!!!

I was a little concerned about lack of power but a chip upgrade will sort that

Now the big question l200 or do i change to a toyota ???

Not a big fan of L200 for towing, 3.0 hilux would be better suited imo.

I have a chipped l200 tipper that nearly always has 3 cube of logs in it towes very well

I am looking at a double cab to carry kids and wife and logs that she can deliver

i do like the toyota though
