Total waste of time. 95% of people who look for a tradesman there are looking for the cheapest price.

Those that look for quality, get a recommendation or look on checkatrade.com or call the council.

One of my most memorable Yellow Pages/.com enquiry was a lady with a small conifer hedge to top and she'd already had eleven quotes! I politely declined from wasting my time, after howling with laughter and quoting on the phone £5K :laugh1:

You're all talking out of your backsides, theres nothing wrong with the yellow pages at all.

Don't listen to em Simon, they just don't want you to advertise in the same directory incase it up's the competition.....:laugh1:

That's not true. Just look who's advertising in the tree section and you'll find all the gypos to be in there as they don't get recommendations.

I don't think the book is used as much since they changed size of it, and judging by discounts there offering on previous years they are struggling for advertisers. They also seem to be changing and promoting yell. Com alot more, wouldn't surprise me if the book disappeared in a year or two, if you have the money spare do it, but I hardly had any return on it this year. Oh and if you do don't forget to put 6 a's in front of your name otherwise you'll be lost on the back page
