I dont suppose if anyone knows if there is a .325 sprocket for the 066? i happen to have a pile of chain and 20" bar in .325 from another saw, so would be cheeper than buying a new 3/8 bar and chain!

many thanks in advance

Do you have a spur or rim sprocket set up at the moment?

I am not aware that there is a 0.325" spur sprocket that will fit. You can however get a 9 tooth rim sprocket. You can get higher teeth numbers but you would probably have to get it from a saw racing specialist.

The 066 uses the standard 7 spline like many of Stihl's saws. The part numbers for the rim only (9T 0.325") (no clutch drum);

Stihl 0000 642 1239

Oregon 13624

I wouldn't have thought the strength of the chain would be a problem. Chip clearance might possibly be an issue but with only 20" you will probably be OK.

Thanks megatron thats good of you to provide part numbers. I had resigned myself to a new bar,

As for the strength issue i will be running it on one of those portec log things to cut green sycamore thinnings so it will be at only 1/4 capacity.

If i were using the 36" bar to log seasoned oak it might be a different story!

Thanks again all as im new to this forum and computer thingy!

As has been previously said - get a power mate or stihl equivalent rim sprocket then you can quickly change between 325 x 9 , 3/8 x 7 , 3/8 x 8 , 404 x 7 or 404 x 8 to suit the bar you have.

Again are you running a straight sprocket or a rim and sprocket type set up?

Rim and sprocket is easiest as you just pop on a .325 rim and away you go.
