Who actually are they?

I've heard some not that nice things about their bussiness and strategies...

I looked in to this. They are very reasonable but they have very strict rules you must adhere to. For example, the management, no buildings, public access if already exists etc etc. I went to a woodfair and listened to them for an hour. Very tempted as you can use it a sustainable wood for yourself or make a profit too. Depends on location and the past management of course. :thumbup1:

Not sure, I thought they were some sort of estate agent specialising in the sale of woodland. Not had any dealings with them myself.

Perhaps traditional auctioneers may be a better avenue to explore then.

UK Land and Farms - Woodland for sale | UK woodlands | invest in woodland

They can be usefull. You can set up search parameters and when anything within those pops up you automatically recieve an email.

When searching for land we used it and found it quite handy.

Just as a thought for you, I was on site in a wood with one of the FC Woodland managers in Bewdley a couple of months ago, and there was a herd of pigs in the woods, he explained that they had allowed a local farmer to keep his pigs in the woods to graze because it benefited both the farmer and the wood. I thought it was a really nice idea, thought I'd mention it to you in case you have any FC woodland nearby.

does sound nice. can you add anything to how they benefit the wood - i always thought they were pretty destructive at anything less than minimal stocking densities?
