Well I never, tree of heaven with fruit on, will have to check that one out! Nice find, that totally threw me, I disregarded A. altissima BECAUSE of that fruit:lol:

 

 

In fact have you got any more pictures, leaf scars on the twigs, buds, a picture of the spay of the leaf, because I know the fruit of A. altissima and it doesn't lok like that?

The tree is 2 mile from home, but will have dropped its leaves now, you've got me wondering what it could be now, I took a glance and it automatically registered as ailanthus so maybe I should take a second look.
