I would need specialist lit then cos my books done.

Its normal form is quite common in NW USA, more occasional in larger gardens here.

But i have never known it as the american fir

 

Abies procera 'Glauca' has no other synonyms than the Noble fir, so i apologise for that, I'm sure you'll get your own back:001_rolleyes:

Its in Owen johnsons book unser the description of Abies procera, in the other varieties bit

so my ident was right after realising as my gut did that i was in the wrong genus, phew, you had me well bothered!
