lets face it none of us get it perfect all day every day, so what stupid mistakes do you make (most probably more than once).

how about strapping your lanyard to your leg when putting your spikes on or forgetting to clip up your leg loops on your harness and wondering why it's so uncomfortable hanging off your rope:blushing:

After a long climb up an ivy clad stem, being pelted by hail, soaked to the skin, freezing cold, crappy tree to remove with hardly any drop zone, my 020 wouldnt start, I had a right go at the ground staff (who were standing in the conservatry entrance drinking a nice warm coffee at this point) for not warming my saw up, and not putting fuel in. Sent it down quite rapidly, followed by a barrage of abuse, they still couldnt get it started. 'It was F*c£ing working yesterday' came the reply as I was zipping down to sort the mess out, only to get to the bottom and remember that I had removed the spark plug to check another saw earlier in the morning and forgot to put it back in, oops! It was a long, cold, wet thrust back to the top, and a very quiet crew leader fo the rest of the day!

Last time I tied a small limb to myself to prevent it falling!

and Erm.... Deciding to do the lowering myself coz the man on the ground was busy sharpening.

Both things were stoopid but seemed like a good idea at the time. Vowed never again.
