bit of a echo in here!!!

bought myself a echo top handle saw today, just wondered if anybody had used one and what they thought (would have bought a husky or stihl but ££££ are an issue)

Never used one, but don't knock'em till you've given them a go! I've had a EFCO top handle saw for three years, never let me down. Lacks guts, but so light and comfortable. I now have the husky 338xpt, far superior saw, but then my Efco was HALF the price..what ya expect.

I've used them, and I'll knock them. They're cheap and won't last. Stick with a 200.

i know pounds are an issue but i think you may have been better buying a good used 020/200, the echo's are a good saw pound for pound but a 020 would take the day to day abuse, at least you didnt buy the husky top handled......

But of course you can, just save for a bit. Why waste time buying non professional gear? Life's too short to waste time buying cheap gear.

get the ms 192, if moneys a problem. best compromie out there. only with a short bar though. echo's aren't very gutsy but light

bad idea to ask for feed back after youve already bought somthin!! i found them ok ish nice n light good for prunning but bit gutless and slow chain speed, cheap tho.

Does it matter if its not top drawer?

 

If its any good, use it.

 

If its lacking, do a few jobs till you can afford a new 200t.

 

Keep the echo as a back up.

 

Don't buy a second hand 200t, cos it'll be knackered. Who in their right mind would sell a perfectly running topper?
