Best nursery to buy trees from?

Need a 'Pocket handkerchief tree' Davidia Involucrata 2.5 metres. Any recomendations for decent nurserys preferably in the south?

Hilliers isn't too far from you.

 

From my own experience of them, it's always better to get up there and choose the tree yourself, if at all possible.

 

Have you tried the RHS Plantfinder?

Majestic Tree near St Albans, Hertfordshire have a very large stock and I can highly recommend them.

Thornhayes Nursery near Cullompton. Excellent place. Massive selection of quality trees - a veritable candystore. Use them regularly.

Burntwood Nurseries just off the A33 between Winchester and Amazingstoke, is apparently pretty good although the internet age seems to have passed them by.

Thanks for replies guys - i went to hilliers today and got a very nice davidia - Rupert the chap who worked there seemed like a nice guy and knowledgeable too.

Will definately check out the other nuseries for the future but it went well with hilliers.
