Those mesh sided bags dont look very robust to me. Some of my bags have been tipped 3 times and still look new.

They may not look robust but the ones I have are! The only damage to some are where I've clumsily put the forks through them! :blushing:

A few have been tipped 4 to 5 times still look fine. They're fully uv proofed..

Your bags look tougher than the ones I see a year ago. I think they are bringing new ideas in all the time. I bought my bags as its alot cheaper than putting another building up.

I've gone from 100% loose loads to 85% bulk bags and 15% loose loads in less than a year, I was apprehensive at first but I just explained the obvious if the customer orders a "loose load" they can't be sure of value for money with the bags I tell them the measurements and m3. New customers especially appreciate it they know exactly what they are getting so there's no mis understandings, for the die hard existing loose load customers I still do loose loads. From my side I managed to raise the price in the change over to cover the increasing cord prices so I should be able to freeze my prices for this year and hopefully next.

So does anyone use the airstripe bags? Most of my timber is ash so the moisture content is reasonably low to start with.

I would have thought you still need to class your bags as loose loads same as your tipper. The logs are not stacked in the bag to eliminate air space are they ?

When describing my logs I tell people they are loosely packed not stacked in the bags. Steve are you a fan of the airstripe bags? I'm ordering 500 tomorrow and still can't decide which ones to go for.

So far so good but only got them in January so would not want to fully recommend until cutting green timber into them now. The only problem I can see is green timber may go mouldy if stored in them now. I dont think there is much in it robs look good and probably better airflow. I went for mine because they are 1.5 cu metres so dont need to stop processor so often. The only down side is cant lift them with bobcat when green so need teleporter. 500 is alot of bags if they dont work out. I would consider paying for 25 and trying first even if premium price.

I will be stacking them on pallets at ground level, then brick pattern on level 2 & 3 again on pallets to allow maximum airflow. They are stored in a barn, my thinking is with all the pluses in my seasoning process are the mesh bags just a luxury. I have a great rotation all my wood has been cut 2 years ago and in log form in a barn for at least a year. I'm just trying to remove the re handling process from loose logs in a barn to the bag. I'm paying £1.75 for my solid 900mm bags where the airstripe bags are £2.80 so I'm already jumping up a pound a bag so to go to mesh bags at £3.90 it starts getting expensive.

Where are you getting bags at those prices?
