fully agree.

we work dam hard and provide a good service and are professionals not just doing it for beer money.

when anything breaks down it all comes out of the profits as does the maint, its all oil prices though.

what are granny logs?

funny thing is i now actually do firewood for beer money! 10 years ago we sold 30 1/2 ton loads a week (winter) on average,£40 a load, full time job, take out fuel, overheads, two mens wages, breakdowns etc then do the maths, not viable.i have always maintained that good seasoned firewood should be nearly double the average market price but while idiots are rushing around cutting their own throats it will remain beer money.i now sell 4-5 loads a week at 60 quid on a saturday.....after i've earnt my living mon-fri,sad but true

our problem is the advice web sites which dont get updated regulary always pup the price for firewood really low.

if we ourselves set a national minimum then it would be worth while.

i do belive woodfuel will be big and you 88 will get busier

One for you guys in the know, recently the timber market has gone crazy, but what sort of money is cordwood delivered for processing at the moment?

Purely out of curiosity:sneaky2:

Were currently flogging it on ebay for £45 per builders bag for mixed hardwood, its selling like hotcakes.

The firewood market has picked up over the last couple of years, probably due to the rising energy costs

Do you have a hiab on the truck or can one man lift a builders bag full of logs off the back of a truck???
