Maplin do a not bad one, 20-400x magnification for about £30. We use it for work looking for damage on 'stuff'. Have dropped it a few times and it seemed to survive. Only issue is that I couldn't get it to work on Win7, but better drivers may be out now. May be worth a punt.

I got a Biolux ng microscope with usb viewer off ebay, think I paid about £40. Seems good for the money.

 

These are some pictures I took of bread mold, not sure of the magnification.

I know this is going to sound bizzare but they sell them at Aldi for less than £30!

So along with your cheap strong larger and knockwurst you can now buy high-tech equipment! They also had arealy good usb drawing tablet for less than £20.

Has the world gone mad.

well, i bought a USB microscope, the celestron 44302, just having a play now

 

need to tweak the sharpness (bit tricky) but i can get 10x, 40x and 150x magnification:thumbup:
