Shows what a complete waste of time tpo's and tree officers are. Ok I'm not taring you all with the same brush so please dont take offence but you gotta admit that was a very poor effort by the LA.

:dito:

Didn't appear to try to hard to chase the rougue tree butcher to the end of the earth.

Shame they couldn't have at least got the HSE to have a chat with the hire shop about why they rented a chainsaw out to someone with no training, experience or tickets. (suppose that would be common sense though and also not their job).

Let’s not forget that we are talking about a light entertainment programme and not a documentary. What you saw was the producers version of things.

At the PACE interview the tree owner clearly had his story right, “some big kids did it and ran away” The tree owner claimed to have hired a man he didn’t know to remove a branch and the work happened while he was away.

If he sticks to his story there is little the planners can do as I don’t think their training extends to beating confessions out of people with a rubber hose.

Yeah you know that tree was coming down if someone hadn't interfered!

Thing is if it was a bona fido company who had not butchered it but had pruned a tpo tree then they would have had a right rolicking from the LA and thrown off any LA lists. But if your a muppet with a saw and the owner claims total stupidity then your laughin.

Was surprised to see that they left the tree standing, but on reflection wonder if perhaps this was to let it serve as a subtle reminder, and presumably the TPO still stands meaning that when it does turn its roots up they'll have to bring in someone who is suitably qualified?

How do you work that out?

If it dies it is NO longer TPO'd!

If it dies, the TPO still applies as that space is still reserved for a tree, the LPA can serve a Tree Replacement Order to enforce replanting. There doesn't need to be a tree for there to be a TPO, its a charge on the land.

The exemption simply refers to the need to apply for consent.
