She has 122.000 miles to her name (80 of them towing) and needs a new clutch, what is gonna cost £1500, how much longer will she go on for, do i replace her???

Main dealer maybe, but they are a rip off basically. There are many more independent land rover garages that are equally skilled but a fraction of the cost.

hmmm, I did think it was a bit steep! Im worried she is gonna start costing me money. What is high mileage for a defender?......She still looks good.

Infinity is high mileage for landrovers. If you have had it that long you will have been replacing wearin parts all along. I would say that you might well be on borrowed time for the main gearbox, but these are cheap parts to buy and fit, so unless you are starting to get engine problems, or looking at extensive chassis repair, then IMO its a case of 'better the devil you know'.
