Don't set it too tight. Ive got mine stuck like that before. Pain in the butt having to go back up and get it. There are some cool tricks to retrieving them from the ground without smashing them into the deck too. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pf2wF6dzS-0]RopeGuide retrieval - YouTube[/ame]

That is the ART one but its pretty much the same as yours. Quite a few methods. I like just chucking the tail of rope over a fork on the way down.

The trick for recovery is to leave the loop a bit slack, don't jam it tight.

Also try not to set it in V-union.

yeah learned all that today...ha ha. Ascending with the spiderjack is now a dream. Cant wait to use it on a big leggy plane!

The ART double snapper is really good, you'd struggle to get your pulley saver stuck using one, well worth their money!

but the ring method is so simple, lightweight and you can make one for a £1.

The ring method? Is that on the vid?

Right I have looked at the description. How is the ring any different to a retrieval ball? It obviously is different but looks like it retrieves in an identical fashion.

How or why is it so good?

I've just had a gander too and think the same?

When you get it stuck for the first time, get a double snapper and then never have it happen again :-)
