Hi all, i bought a U900 a while back and its just about ready for a road test, trouble is i cant figure out exactly what all the levers do or rather, what order they need to be in to work correctly.

Can anyone help me in a brief lesson on simple driving?

Do i need to double de clutch?

Its a U900 with a twin plate clutch and 6 speed cascade box.

Ed.

I drive a U900 probably not as plush as yours its a real relic and NO ONE like driving it except me.

It has a 4 speed box and torque converter gear box, the levers in the U900 i drive are as follows:

In the far right corner the air brake, in front of that forward and reverse lever, the very front the gear lever (which is obvious), in the middle just behind the gear lever is the high and low lever.

The in the top left corner closest to your leg should be the PTO engage lever try not to drive with the PTO engaged, behind that the 4WD/diff locks. Fully down is I assume 2wd and the normal driving position, up one notch is 4wd/center diff lock, all the way up 4wd/full difflock.

Our U900 you have to put into low range only for reverse 4 gears.

Yours could be different.

Its dead easy to drive once you get the hang of it.

You can't learn to drive something by reading about it, Just get on and play. I used to drive one but tbh I cant remember the exact positions of everything, I'm sure if I sat in it it'd all come back to me though. They're pretty tough I doubt you'll break it.

I have only used the 6 normal gears forwards and reversed in 1st. i will use the splitter box and low rang, 4x4 etc as soon as i can. she isnt quite ready yet but is just days away from getting to back to work.

Thanks all for your encouragment.:001_tongue:
