Ive bought items off him in the past and the quality of the parts i bought was shocking. They should never have left the factory they were made in.

 

And yet I bought parts for my 357 and they were perfect, but when something is mass produced, you always get crap items, look at the autotune saws, or the stihl pro range, plenty of naff ones you hear about

Been porting again, finished a Husqvarna 350 - nice pick up now and sounds a bit more urgent - be nice to see it against an 026 Stihl wouldn't it Rich:thumbup:

 

Did a couple of muffler mods on a brace of 372XPs and set about porting them today - you can see what effect the modifications have to the lower transfers when the cylinder is put on a crankcase side - this is a Jonsered 2165 but same construction!

 

The lowers are blended and raised in to the crankcase cut out creating less hinderance on the flow. All the ports were widened and re-profiled, rear uppers reshaped to improve scavanging and the base gasket dropped out to up compression.

not really spud.

 

all this porting is very yawn to be honest. ive gone right off it all. just fixing them is enough for me.:001_rolleyes:

 

im sure the saws will run just fine as they did before getting ported.:001_tt2:

 

not looking forward to there return either as i know i will never hear the end of them either.

Rather than start another ms200 related thread, I know Ill get the advise im looking for in this one. Usual fuelling problems I beleive associated with Zama "D" series carbs. Wont maintain full throttle, erratic idle, impossible to tune and stalling. I have tested crankcase and ancillary items including inlet manifold impulse hose etc for leaks, all of which held pressure overnight! I am sure its a carb problem. I dont have a known good carb to try on the saw to be sure. Compression is good also.

 

Here is a photo of my carb. I think it is one with an accelerator pump? Could this be causing the problem and can it be blocked off or what is the normal procedure for curing this?

Get an s87 (or 37, can't remember) for it, no piston pump on that

I need a photo of the choke end of the carb to tell, your symptoms sound a bit accelerator pump related as it is effecting the idle and high speed. Other carb issues usually mess up just the idle or high speed running.
