Ok so without looking at the ipl is it possible that a needle bearing is different for a spur drum and a sprocket drive drum???

I would think not, clutch drums tend to be the same when referring to a machine

Well that is what I was hoping. An ms261 drum that has very excessive free play on the crank. Can get a piece of paper between the drum and bearing.

Tried a spur drum on it and it's nice and tight. Same bearing.

Ordering a new drum anyway.

P.s the 261 has to be the worst design ever for taking the carb off..

Give us a clue to which saw Rich or is this a general request:confused1:

From experience, the needle bearing is usually the same but TBH usually use rim drives on anything 50cc + and pro in design.

I am guessing also that you do mean spur and rim drive clutch drum.......you been on the sauce again or been sniffing the carb cleaner - should avoid that:001_rolleyes::lol:

Yeah that's the ones.

Something like that. I'm blaming the man flu, couldn't smell the carb cleaner today as my nose was too blocked up.

A few more brain cells dying away.

Ms261, drum is very loose on the crank. New bearing but old drum. Guessing it's the drum but thought I would ask.

So blaming the beachams all in one for messing with my head. Oh well off to lifeboat training now, should be fun....
