What's on your bench today?

Just a little update on a MS200t that I asked for some help with. On the third time of asking (After advice on here) they changed the crank seals and guess what? It's now a ring-dinging tree-killin' beautiful bitch of a saw which rather puts the 201 in the shade, but that's for another thread...... so in conclusion over running on tickover, problems when hot, don't discount crank seals.

Thanks,

Mick

UPDATE! It started playing up again after 2 good days. I give up!

It's going to the shed for spares. I wouldn't mind but that's €300 odd for nothing. Half the price of the replacement 201

Live and learn!

Shame. You could have sent it over here for that and probably had it fixed.

But then the 200t is always worth there weight as spares.

Yeah I guess, trouble is it's all 201 from now on. Got 4 or 5 in various states of disrepair.

Hindsight eh! :001_smile: always 20/20.

Sorry only 200s :blushing:

As Rich says, shame you aren't a little closer, recently got seven MS200T bodies that I made five solid runners out of - they are pretty easy to work on and know most of the carb issues by now:thumbup:

I guess one option is to send the carb over??

Beyond the seals, the other issues are carb, impulse line and carb boot.

Not really a bench but on my ramp!image.jpg.4d7d91f6db5e5926fe3e1adfa0bce92a.jpg vauxhall movano van with timming belt failure, 54plate with 100,000 miles on it was at another garage but they couldn't do it for a week or two so we took it on, I reckon when all done it will cost between £1500-1800. So if any of use are putting off getting your timming belt done. GET it done

That could be an idea. Just sending the carb and trying it a working saw.

Will sort something out with newhaven, might have a chat with the lifeboat station and see if they can take the box and send it on.

I find it so bloody annoying that these so called "chainsaw shops" rip people off!

I bet it took you 20mins to fix.:thumbup1:

Shed was to cold so came inside and worked, note the apple pies and tea :-)

New ignition, plug and clutch on a mates husky 61

Local chainsaw shop wanted £400+ to fix it?

I got all the parts for £32, he chucked me £20 for my time and he'll by me a couple pints tonight. :-)
