No just cleaned it up white spirt

this saw will look very clean and new once done I dont think the saw has done much work

may be a farmers saw that has bin kicked about more than used

once she is running rite im going to buy a new 36inch bar for her

was going to buy a 52inch gb bar but rob has taken them off his web site

Im looking forward to getting all the bits in :thumbup:

Stihl do a 59" bar for it, although 52" is a bit big for an 070 unless you're running skip?

Well due to being in somewhat discomfort today I decided it was best to work from home. So one 026 tuned and sharpend. One ms200t exhaust and clutch springs fitted. And what was a spares 200t tested, comp at 160 and a really good spark. Just missing an exhaust and a carb.

 

If anyone has a spare exhaust or knows a local alloy welder near me let me know please. Looking to have this spare saw running again.

 

Oh and even with the pain of a neck I still managed to sort the exhaust on a motorbike and the gear lever out. Thank god for lifting tables. Nice to work and waist hieght.

What ultrasonic cleaner and which fluid do you use ?

I have a 3 litre 120w with 100w heating - mechanical timer, simple and effective. The fluid was from Allenvale and is specialised carb cleaner.

I use a James Sonic 6D. Being a 6 litre one, it is large enough for the larger ride-on carbs, but not too large for saw carbs.

 

Beware of buying one too large, as the cost of cleaning agent will be higher and heating large volume for a small carb is wasteful not only on power, but also on time.

 

I am using a from a can of detergent I bought many years ago, but its all labelled in some foreign lingo, so i cannot say what it is.

 

My next can will come from the people who supplied the bath, as they seem to know the best to use.
