Good for you Mark, totally with you on that one! The guy I use to work for, many years ago, quoted for a guy that was adamant that he wanted a row of eight or so specimen Scots pines to be felled in the rear of his garden. My mate phoned the council, found out there were no tpo's on the trees, and so asked if they could rush a tpo order through on them. A week later my mate got an apologetic phone call from the house owner saying that we wouldn't be able to do the job as he had found out the trees we tpo'd. Never forget that, thought that was such a cool thing to do. (never did find out how HE found out about the tpo's, but he had no idea it was us)

Sure struck some nerves with that didn't I!

I had to fell a a lovely tree today, not sure what it was ....King William pine maybe? Anyone got any ideas?(should dig my tree indent books out, but gawd knows where in the loft they are) Anyhooo, the tree had to be felled due to a VERY large extension being built on the back of her house. No way out of the fell, planning officer was adamant that it had to go. She was just as gutted as I was to fell such a wonderful tree......so I made the mushroom for her, she LOVED it (Priced the job a little too high, and finished so early that I offered) ((First bit of chainsaw carving I've ever done, NOT as easy as I thought, took nearly an hour to whittle that down to size, good fun though))
