Recording tree sounds

Did anyone hear on the radio last week the feature about a guy who has been recording tree sounds with specialist equipment ?

They played some eerie sounds and explained that some are the tree movement, some are the water and air mixing in the xylem [forgive the spelling] and he was to be in Halden Forest in Devon this week recording more.

They went on to say how he has travelled the world recording trees and the Eucalyptus is the most vocal !

Another strange point was some ancient sounds can be somehow held in the wood and extracted later.

Defo BBC Radio 2. Pretty sure it was on the Simon Mayo drivetime show which you should be able to listen to again on the i-Player. Sorry can't remember which day, but would have been between 17:20 - 17:40.

If it was previously covered on countryfile (I missed it!) then you should be able to find that on BBC i-Player also.

Hope this helps.
