To follow on from Pete's thread on interest on late payments;

What do most of you do?

Do you expect the customer to stump up cash or write a cheque before you leave, or do you send them a bill in post?

hard to vote as do all 3 which all depends on the customer if your working for a company you will have to send an invoice but 90% pay on the day

Bill through the door (or in the post if I didn't have time to print it beforehand). It is very unusual for the customer to be in when I am there. It does mean that the majority of payments are by cheque though. :thumbdown:

IMO bill through post is an invitation of extended credit,bill through door is better,stand on doorstep with pre-typed invoice and space to hand write extras is best!
