Pole saw (power pruner)

the hedge cutter wont work with the extension...it will destroy the clutch in a very short time.

 

Heard the same only wanted it to use with the saw.

interesting about the echo i thought the hedge cutter would work with the extention that would have been handy, i know the hedgecutter head works on the stihl but can damage the shaft if you cut through bigger bits.

 

im thinking the stihl ticks the boxes, pity it has the 4 mix..........so it could be the echo:lol:

I've got the HT131 and highly recommend it... The 4mix does sound strange though!

I used an old echo one, on full extension it was seriously heavy when horizontal.

 

Fwiw I have a 4 mix blower strimmer and long reach hedger, not had any bother with any of them.

tom, ive had a 4 mix hedgecutter for a while and its been fine, but for some reason i still dont trust it.

currently got three of the stihl ones,

as said above, pretty fragile (new shaft £200 )

 

but we were doing rail work and got an Echo one, it lasted for half a shift !!!!

 

got a four mix long reach as well as the pole pruner, they're brill, you can really feel the torque

I know the 4-mix engines sound very different and take a bit of getting used to, but mine starts on the first pull every time, fault-less.

mine too, but it just seems like the work of the devil when you have been use to the sound of a 2 stroke for twenty odd years

I tried both Stihl and Echo when wanting one a few years back. Stihl was very flexible in the shaft so I chose the echo. No problems so far!

i have the stihl, the 4 mix is a bit heavier than the original 2 stroke. it has more grunt and i have never had any problems with the bearings in the shaft. This was always the problem with the earlier models.

I use mine daily and with the hedge cutter head on, it handles it no bother, i have even had the strimmer on it for a laugh and it was fine.

I have had that 1 for about 3 years i think, usually i went through 2 a year.

 

Never tried the echo, i see no point!
