Splicing up a tachyon lanyard

Got bored of splicing douuble braids so thought i'd have a go at a Tachyon splice and made myself a new lanyard. Used New England Tachon and used the instructons off neropes.com.

All went well but inserting the core into the cover was a pig... Took about 30mins to complete the bury and each pull moved it a mm at a time! What fids do you all use for Tachyon splicing? I was using a wire fid but a tubular fid maybe easier for that bury.

The final result turned out well but want to get a few opinions before i splice an eye in the other end!

I dont use the NE instructions for that, just the normal DB splice as per Samson instructions, and chop the second core off and throw it away.

Much easier to bury, and it hasnt fallen apart and killed me yet, so I'm fairly optomistic.

pull it back out. once you have put the core into the wire fid do a core reduction taper and also snip the end into a small taper. you should be able to pull the core bury in fairly easy, a quick shock load will help it through.
