10hp diesel 2 wheeled tractor

I dont know about anyone else but everytime I use my BCS two wheeled tractor with the flail attachment, I feel like ive been wrestling with someone. My back is stiff and I cant feel my hands. Any one else suffered at the hands of this beast?

Never tried one, but if its anything like the big rotovators then I would agree.

 

Do you have the wee trailer for it?

No it was on my wish list, I thought it would be useful for going to the shops! but im not sure now. I reckon I could easily crash that.

what flail attachment have you got ?

Does it have a roller ?

You might find that you need a weight to balance it out and the bolts on the anti vibration mounts are to tight.

Any think like this one.

Thanks for the advice I will check the av mounts.

it looks similar to yours, has got a rear roller, I cant remember off hand whats on the makers plate, but it is Italian. I find it lifts up easily on the front when you run over obstacles, even apples! i didnt know whether to put some extra weight on the flail to keep it down. What do you think?

I have extra weight on the pull start end and wheel spacers to give a wider foot print. Makes it easier to turn on the brakes.

I use a Grillo GF4 and its certainly a work out. The most annoying thing is when you are working on site everyone thinks you've got it easy compared to guys using a brushcutter as you're 'just walking behind it'.

I get my boys to do ten minutes on it and then swap with the guy on the clearing saw for another ten. Worst thing is rutted ground- all you can do is lock the diff and hang on for grim death! Mine has no castor wheels at the front so has an annoying habit of stopping dead when the front bottoms out in a rut, leaving you to walk into the handlebars.
