if your working out of your normal area is it not better to give the logs away that pay to get rid of it thats my point

Our farm is registered with the Environment Agency but it is not registered as a commercial waste disposal site as we do not accept commercial waste only virgin timber as authorised by the Environment agency.

Great idea, but why not include freebies? I use "The Dutch Garden Centre" at Junction 30 on the M4 outside Cardiff. He will take any amount for free.

Probably because it's steve site and what he says goes, oh and we all know it's a legal minefield tipping at unlicenced sites so why would he want the headaches.......

 

We can always post asking if anybody knows a tip site if we need one, but a list of proper legit ones could come in very handy everyso often

pretty much as above. people can always come on here and ask around for free tip sites.

 

but most of these types of free tip sites, 9 times out of 10 depend on someone being there to accept the waste.....they wont necessarily want to take crappy conifer wood.....conifer clippings....rootballs.....stump grindings etc......and on top of that they may have limited space and only want to take a certain amount at any time.

 

So basically, Im not going to invest time and money into creating some sort of a database containing a load of 'possible' tip sites that have every chance of becoming obsolete 30 days later, or are otherwise just unusable as they wont take whatever waste you happen to have on board

Hadfields on the eastern side of Manchester will take clean roundwood but AFAIK they dont take chip.
